All the information I can provide you with, about FINCH; still under heavy construction and, when complete, it will be in a bit of a stagnent state, as the band is on "hiatus". For more information concerning the band, I'd highly recommend Sharpening Beneath, an extensive site dedicated to FINCH.

THE BAND

Formed in the late 90's and originally called Numb, the band back then consisted of Nate, Alex, Derek, and Pappas. Practicing in a garage, in their hometown Temecula, California, it wasn't until guitarist, Randy 'R2K' Strohmeyer joined that FINCH was born and started on a road to revolution.

On October 9, 2001, their EP, Falling into Placed was released by Drive-Thru Records and instantly became a hit. Even though it was only 4 songs, it teased the listener into searching for more - more that FINCH would eventually deliever.

On March 12, 2002, What it is to burn, their first full album, was released and sky-rocketed up the Billboard Charts. It went gold and introduced a new era to the music industry by creating a new genre. FINCH'S popularity continued to grow as the band went on several tours (both in America and overseas) before settling down to start recording their second full length album. Before actual recording began, however, drummer Alex Pappas left the band, citing creative differences.

FINCH took their time to record Say Hello to Sunshine, molding their music to their taste and starting out on a new path. Marc Allen became the new drummer for FINCH and their second album was released on June 6, 2005. It was completely different from all their previous work and stretched the bounds of the music industry once more. FINCH succeeded in doing something many band fail to do: they were still original.

On February 19, 2006, the band started an "indefinite hiatus" and while the band is sorely missed, the impact they made on the music industry is lasting and undeniable.
