Since this incident, Kazuki taunts and picks on Wataru whenever he gets the chance. Even the people around them start to wonder if Kazuki really does, in fact, hate Wataru. He's not sure why, but this thought doesn't sit well with Wataru in the least. As they spend more and more time together, Wataru starts to come to terms with his feelings for Kazuki. When he finally goes to express this to Kazuki, he sees him with a woman and completely misunderstands the situation.
To make matters worse, Wataru has also started a rumor that Kazuki is dating his sister to try and stop the rumors about himself. When Kazuki learns of this, he corners Wataru in the student council office and demands an explanation. Wataru finally starts to express how he feels and the two share their first kiss. They misunderstand each other again and Wataru breaks off from Kazuki. For the next week, the two are the walking dead. They don't eat, they don't sleep; they just exist.
Finally, Wataru discovers the truth about Kazuki: he's been in love with Wataru the entire time! Excited beyond explanation, he rushes to Kazuki's house and is met halfway by the very man he's going to see. They embrace and kiss again, this time with mutal feelings expressed and Wataru openly (finally) admits that he's in love with Kazuki. As they exchange rings, they change the position to the left ring finger: a symbol with a meaning only they knonw.
