Narita Shinogu is the not-so-typical boy next door. He's your go-to guy, the one everyone is always relying on and the one who's always most concerned with the well-being of others.
As a freshmen studying law, Shinogu is a dedicated individual that puts his full focus on whatever he's doing and does his best at everything he's involved in. He works several
part-time jobs to pay living expenses and tuition, while still making time for family and friends.
In
Hot Gimmick, Shinogu is the surprise underdog of the story. Adoptive brother to
Narita Hatsumi, Shinogu decides to annul his ties with the Narita's
because he is in love with his sister. It is due to his strong feelings for Hatsumi that much of the drama in the story unfolds, leading to a richly complex situation, brimming with angst
and twists galore.
Despite this, Shinogu does his best to show an always smiling face so that others do not worry about him. He is the voice of reason in many situations, bringing a stern calmness
and advanced maturity that even many adults admire - an attribute that makes him very popular across the board.
He usually understands and works with people very well, and, combined with his high intelligence and strong work ethic, it seemed only natural for him to follow a career where all of
his skills would be utilized to the fullest. His dream was to study medicine and become a doctor, but when he realized how much harm that would cause his family, he decided it would be easier to attend his
current university and study law. Always the considerate.
Shinogu first appears in
Volume 1: Chapter 1: Page 10; when he offers to help Hatsumi carry out the garbage.
